| Slovenia
is a small (2 million inhabitants) yet very
beautiful country. It has just about
everything, from mountains and lakes to grassy
plains. We have visited many times, both in
the winter for skiing
and also in the summer for walking, swimming and
general exploring. From Flachau you can
enter Slovenia on the north-east border via Graz,
or in the north-west via Villach - which is best
depends on where in Slovenia you want to go.

Bled
(web site) This
is a town in beautiful surroundings. It's
main feature is the church on an island in the
centre of a stunning lake. Hiring a rowing
boat is a great way to see the lake and
island. If you avoid visiting in July and
August you will be guaranteed a peaceful trip. |

Celje

site)
A large industrial town,
Celje has an interesting centre worth visiting
mainly during the day as we found it was very
quiet in the evening. The river runs through
the heart of the town and there is a lovely walk
along side it. |
