Our Review

This is a reasonably sized Austrian ski area close to Villach that has about 2-days worth of good paced skiing and good lake views (Ossiacher See) from the mountain.   

The slopes can by accessed from several places although parking at the gondola base is limited and on busy days you may have to use the remote car park and shuttle bus.  

Culturally Gerlitzen seems quite different to the Slovenian resorts with many more large school groups, more highly populated slopes and fast modern lifts.  There is a large selection of bars and restaurants offering a large variety of food.  

Intermediate and advanced skiers will find a good mix of pistes here but beginners may find it intimidating due to the busy runs.
